Travel to Fernhook Falls - Mount Frankland South National Park
A great weekender approx 2 hours from Albany Western Australia. Fernhook Falls is a easy stroll and a great place to get close to nature. We visited Fernhook Falls in June and the early winter rains contributed to the flow over the granite boulders however it was less than the gushing water we were expecting. If you are visiting in summer, the flow reduces to a trickle however Rowell’s Pool is still a serene place to ponder life. Don't let the froth deter you, the natural bubbles forming in pools are caused by saponin from plants in the water which give off a lovely fresh smell as you approach the falls. As you can see, you can see the falls from the road, however there are many longer bushwalks and also camping in the area. This is definitely a great place to visit with kids!
